About the Journal

Concept

ZfKE publishes articles on the topics of small and medium-sized enterprises, entrepreneurship, family businesses and SMEs. The published articles must meet high scientific standards and at the same time be relevant for practice. The ZfKE focuses on business administration topics, but also considers relevant contributions from related fields. Both empirical and theoretical conceptual contributions are accepted. The high scientific standard of ZfKE is reflected in its good ranking in relevant journal rankings.

Peer review process

The journal uses a double-blind peer review system and an internationally renowned review board.

Publication frequency

ZfKE is published four times a year with a circulation of 700 copies. Each issue is divided into the following parts:

Regular scientific articles: 3 scientific articles from relevant research fields (double-blind peer-reviewed; max. 45,000 characters);

"State-of-the-Art Articles": Literature reviews, collective reviews or discussions on current concepts and research methods (double-blind peer-reviewed; max. 30,000 characters);

"Entrepreneurship kompakt" keywords on current entrepreneurship and SME research (editor-reviewed; max. 15,000 characters).
